Alasdair MacIntyre was educated at Queen Mary College, University of London, and Manchester University. He has taught at the Universities of Manchester, Leeds, and Oxford in the United Kingdom and at Brandeis, Boston University, Wellesley College, Vanderbilt, Duke, and Notre Dame in the United States.
He was a British Council Visiting Lecturer at the University of Copenhagen in 1969 and a Visiting Professor at the University of Aarhus in 1992.
His books include A Short History of Ethics, After Virtue, and God, Philosophy, Universities.
