Phishing
Phishing is a type of scam that uses emails, text messages, or phone calls to trick people into giving away personal information like passwords, credit card numbers, and Social Security numbers. It's called "phishing" because the scammers "cast a wide net" hoping someone will "take the bait." These scams often use either tempting offers or urgent warnings to get you to provide your information.
